Welcome! This page will help you decide where to start with an Equipment or Fitness program.
Choosing the right class...
If you are new to pilates, have never had a formal class with an instructor, have very limited experience, or have physical limitations then it is recommended that you take a private or semi-private before joining a group equipment class. This will ensure a smooth transition into the group class and allow you to learn fundamental exercises, proper technique, and the safety of working with the equipment. Clients with special needs, injuries, pregnant, or within 6 month's postpartum should take private or semi-private sessions. The private sessions will teach you pilates fundamentals and how to operate the reformer before joining a group class. Clients who choose to do one or more privates before joining a group class tend to be more successful in those classes and get better results when they understand the foundation of Pilates exercise. The instructor can evaluate your skills and help set you up in the right classes to best suit your needs! If you already have experience and would like to try a group class, you can quickly register online or give us a call if you have questions. For more information on privates, please contact the studio.
Our fitness classes consist of Prima Barre, Burn at the Barre, Pilates Mat, Fitness Circuit, Zumba, and Hip Hop Hustle classes. These classes are for all levels. There is no private needed before you join. Be sure to get approval from your doctor before joining any fitness or cardio class. If you have problems with your back, hips, knees, ankles, or feet, some of these classes may not be a good fit for you. Please discuss your physical limitations with the instructor prior to class to see if you will need modifications. See all class descriptions before deciding or contact us for more information.
Fitness class vs. equipment classes:
If you are on a limited budget, it is a good idea to join a group fitness class. All of our fitness classes are a great, economical place for beginners through advanced students and compliments any other workout or reformer class. These classes consist of full body toning and conditioning. You will strengthen and tone your abdominals, upper body, lower body, as well as increase overall flexibility. Extra props can be used during class in the form of circles, therabands, foam rollers, and balance balls to aid in more resistance and core strengthening. For detailed descriptions of each fitness class click here.
A reformer class can either be a private, semi-private or group session and can include anywhere from 1 to 6 clients. The reformer is a piece of equipment on which the client exercises using a moving carriage attached to springs for resistance to work the entire body. There are other types of equipment that can be used during a reformer session such as a Wunda Chair, Exo Chair, Tower, Spring Board, or Cadillac Table. (Equipment offered varies per studio) An equipment class tends to be more expensive than a fitness class due to the specialized equipment, the overall benefits and the smaller class sizes.
Now that you have decided what's right for you, go to the online scheduler on the home page and choose a location where you can see what fits into your schedule, then pay for a package and reserve your private lesson appointment or a group class.
