Pilates is an innovative system of mind-body exercise evolved from the principles of Joseph Pilates.
Pilates dramatically transforms the way your body looks, feels and performs. It builds strength without excess bulk, creating a sleek, toned body with slender thighs and a flat abdomen.
It teaches body awareness, good posture and easy, graceful movement. Pilates improves flexibility, agility and economy of motion. It can even help alleviate back pain.
Professional dancers have known the benefits of Pilates for decades. Top athletes use it for strength, flexibility, and injury prevention. Hollywood celebrities and supermodels use it to maintain beautiful physiques.
A miracle? Not really. Developed from the rehabilitation techniques of Joseph Pilates, Pilates is a safe, sensible exercise system using a floor mat or equipment, that will help you look and feel your very best. No matter what your age or condition, it will work for you.

Bootcamp Pilates Circuit
(Not offered at this time)
Circuit training classes are very popular programs because, with just a couple of sessions per week, you can dramatically improve your fitness level. Bootcamp is designed to keep your body in motion with minimal rest between exercises, and uses exercises that target more than one muscle group at a time, so that you get a very effective workout in a one-hour class. You'll notice your flat, toned belly, tight lifted bottom and long lean arms in a matter of weeks!
We start with a warm up. Then we move on to 30–40 minutes of cardio and strength. interval training stations, using the reformer, Exo chair, as well as other equipment and props to keep your heart rate up. Then we finish with a cool down and stretch for the remainder of the class time.
This class is designed to compliment any other work out you are already doing and to give your body a kickstart to improving it's fitness capacity. The body can only improve it's fitness level when it is pushed beyond it's comfort zone. This interval training style will do just that!
For the best results, sign up for 2-3 days of bootcamp per week!

The reformer is a piece of equipment on which the client exercises with a moving carriage attached to springs for resistance. It's a full body workout, where this special equipment can assist those with physical limitations or challenge the most fit individual. You will build core strength, increase flexibility, coordination, improve posture and create long, lean muscle. Pilates is great for adults (men and women), athletes, dancers, and for rehabilitation. It's recommended by doctors, chiropractor's and physical therapists.
The Exo chair is a small piece of apparatus that does all the same great things as the Reformer, but can require more core strength as well as develop more core strength! The clients in the picture are demonstrating an advanced exercise. The Exo chair allows for many modifications for ALL levels to enjoy!

Fitness Classes
The Pilates Barre
&
Burn at the Barre

This form of exercise uses Pilates principles and basic ballet conditioning exercises, while incorporating light hand weights and intense isometric positions on the floor and at the barre.
This technique creates the long, lean muscles you see in dancers and all at a quick, motivating pace that burns fat and sculpts the body. Expect to see flatter abdominals, a lifted seat, leaner thighs and greater definition in the arms and back.
When you work at the barre you have a sense of center and balance that allows you to concentrate on the muscle group you are working on, maximizing the bodies full potential.
This workout is “more intense” than a Pilates Mat class and professionals recommend the Pilates Barre be incorporated into your weekly workout routine at least three times per week to create a more cut, defined physique.
Pilates Mat
The mat exercises use the weight of the body as resistance as the instructor guides students through the various floor exercises. For those who like to keep moving, this is a perfect, medium paced class that will keep you engaged and sweaty! You will strengthen and tone your abdominals, upper body, lower body, as well as increase overall flexibility. Extra props can be used during the class in the form of circles, therabands, foam rollers, light hand weights and balance balls to aid in more resistance, toning and core strengthening.
Fitness Circuit
With the use of our indoor facility and occassionally taking it outdoors, the options are endless...
We will keep you moving, non-stop for one hour with the use of balance balls, hand weights, magic circles, resistance bands, and mat work. Wear tennis shoes.
Tone & Stretch
This 55 minute class will burn your abs, butt, arms, and back! Each week we will target 2 specific areas of the body to maximize the affect. The class will end with a cool down and stretch to lengthen those tight muscles and relieve tension.

The Benefits of Pilates
Pilates gets your mind in tune with your body. By emphasizing proper breathing, correct spinal and pelvic alignment, and complete concentration on smooth, flowing movement, you become acutely aware of how your body feels, where it is in space, and how to control its movement. The quality of movement is valued over quantity of repetitions. Proper breathing is essential, and helps you execute movements with maximum power and efficiency. Last but not least, learning to breathe properly can reduce stress.
Conventional workouts tend to build short, bulky muscles - the type most prone to injury. Pilates elongates and strengthens, improving muscle elasticity and joint mobility. A body with balanced strength and flexibility is less likely to be injured.
Building on the principles of Joseph Pilates, Pilates exercises develop a strong "core," or center of the body. The core consists of the deep abdominal muscles along with the muscles closest to the spine. Control of the core is achieved by integrating the trunk, pelvis and shoulder girdle.
In conventional workouts, weak muscles tend to get weaker and strong muscles tend to get stronger. The result is muscular imbalance - a primary cause of injury and chronic back pain. Pilates conditions the whole body, even the ankles and feet. No muscle group is over trained or under trained. Your entire musculature is evenly balanced and conditioned, helping you enjoy daily activities and sports with greater ease and less chance of injury.
Pilates exercises train several muscle groups at once in smooth, continuous movements. By developing proper technique, you can actually re-train your body to move in safer, more efficient patterns of motion - invaluable for injury recovery, sports performance, good posture and optimal health.
No other exercise system is so gentle to your body while giving it a challenging workout. Many of the exercises are performed in reclining or sitting positions, and most are low impact and partially weight bearing. Pilates is so safe, it is used in physical therapy facilities to rehabilitate injuries.
Pilates is also an extremely flexible exercise system. Modifications to the exercises allow for a range of difficulty ranging from beginning to advanced. Get the workout that best suits you now, and increase the intensity as your body conditioning improves.
